Education
BS Structural or Civil Engineering preferred
- Manager of Engineering position will provide complete oversight of Waukegan Steel engineering department. This includes management of all in-house detailers as well as coordination/QC of external detailing and BIM consultants. This position reports to the Director/VP of Preconstruction.
Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Strong interest in the steel fabrication industry
- Strong interest in a management role with full accountability for QC and process improvement
- 10+ years of direct detailing experience with SDS/2
- Secondary experience with Tekla, Autocad or similar
- 5+ years steel focused BIM coordination experience
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Consistently demonstrate attention to detail, problem solving follow through
- Strong ability to evaluate priorities, allocate resources, and ensure deadlines are met
- Team player, prefers fast paced environment, comfortable multi-tasking
- Salary commensurate with yrs of experience and qualifications.
